A virtual 3D model can be used for purposes such as: catalog sheets, websites, templates, and submittals (“cuts”) all without a real part ever being built.  A virtual 3D model can also be used to ensure size, fit, and function of parts on their own or within an assembly, as well as used as a basis for manufacturing real parts/products.
